Stefan Fehlandt received his musical education at the ”Hanns Eisler” Hochschule Berlin as well as with the LaSalle Quartet at Cincinnati University.
He is a founding member of the Vogler Quartet, an ensemble which can claim the distinction of retaining its original membership since its formation in 1985.
With his quartet Stefan Fehlandt appeared in most of the major venues of Europe, North America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Beside the quartet work he built an international career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher.
Stefan Fehlandt has performed with partners such as the cellists Boris Pergamenschikow, David Geringas and Daniel Müller-Schott, the violinists Isabelle Faust, Antje Weithaas and Christian Tetzlaff, the pianist Lars Vogt, the Trio Wanderer and the singer Ruth Ziesak.
His musical activities include a wide range of styles from baroque to avantgarde in various solo and chamber combinations. He has toured with Ute Lemper, Matthias Höfs, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Aperto Piano Quartet and regularly appears as guest of renowned german and international festivals.
Stefan Fehlandt is professor for chamber music and viola at the State University of Music in Stuttgart. Since 2017 he also serves as vice president.
In addition he works as juror with competitions and foundations, gives masterclasses and workshops with the Jeunesses Musicales Germany, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg/Hohenems (Austria), as well as in Berlin, Stockholm, Sevilla, Sydney, Cincinnati, Toronto and Montreal (MISQA).
